Hariharan honoured with Lata Mangeshkar award

Exceptionally harmonious playback singer Hariharan was honoured by the Madhya Pradesh Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma with the National Lata Mangeshkar award at a ceremony at the Nehru Stadium here last evening.

Hariharan, who happens to be the 28th recipient of the award, was also given Rs two lakh cash, honour plaque, shawl as well as a coconut.

The musical genius Hariharan is known for his famous version in Hindi films such as Roja, Bombay, Jeans, Indian, Taal, Shivaji, Guru, Border and Virasat while he has also given his voice for various Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Telugu films and is considered one of the pioneers of Indian fusion music.

As a prominent fact of inspiration, in 2004, Hariharan was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

The more we speak about a genius like him the more it seems to be lesser as the actual fact still prevail that we cannot actually define a genius.

Congrats to the genius!
