Ravi Shastri applied for India's head coach!

Former Team India director Ravi Shastri had expressed his keenness to continue working with the national team as he applied for the chief coach’s post of the India cricket team.

“Yes, I have applied for the chief coach’s post today. I have emailed all the requisite documents that was asked for in the advertisement,” Shastri said.

The veteran of 80 Test matches said that, “Whatever is required by the BCCI, I have provided them. If you ask me whether I am confident or not, all I can say is that my job was to apply for the post and I have done that. I cannot comment on anything else.”

The former India captain was in charge of the Indian team till the end of ICC World T20. The team has several notable achievements, including 3-0 T20 whitewash of Australia,  away Test series win against Sri Lanka after 22 years, ODI series win in England and Test series win against South Africa at home  during his tenure as Team Director.

Except Shastri, former India manager Lalchand Rajput, former India-A coach Pravin Amre and former bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad are expected to submit their applications adding a few other domestic coaches.
