In India, lunar eclipse will occur today, 30 November during noon hours. It will last for 4 hours 18 minutes 11 seconds. The eclipse is going to start at 1.04 PM and end at 05.22 PM. This will be the fourth and last lunar eclipse of the year 2020. Previously, lunar eclipse took place on 10 January, 5 June and 4 July of this year. The last lunar eclipse is falling on the same day of Kartik Purnima and Guru Nanak Jayanti.

There is an other name for lunar eclipse in Sanskrti “Upachaya”. The lunar eclipse is of three types- total, partial and penumbral. The occurring eclipse of the day will be penumbral lunar eclipse. When the moon moves in the outer side of the shadow of the earth then it is said to be penumbral lunar eclipse.



According to the astrologers, the maximum of lunar eclipse is expected to be at 03:13 PM. The umbral magnitude is expected to be -0.262 and penumbral magnitude is to be 0.828. It is difficult to identify the penumbral lunar eclipse from a usual full moon.

The Penumbral lunar eclipse will be mostly visible for the regions of Asia, most of Europe, Australia, North America, South America, Arctic Ocean and Atlantic Ocean

In India, the eclipse will be less visible but only from Northern and Easter regions.
