With the reported deaths reaching all time high in the country because of the second wave of coronavirus, the people are left puzzled and are in a state of panic. There is a huge shortage for the vaccination in the country. As per the permissions granted by the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI), the second dose of Covaxin can be taken after 28 days from the date of the first dose. The second dose of Covishield can be given after 4-6 weeks from the first dose. Soon, the Centre advised that the second dose of Covishield can be taken 6-8 weeks after the first dose. With the delay in the second dose of vaccination, several people are worried of health issues.

There is a lot of confusion among the infected coronavirus patients about when to take the first dose of vaccine for coronavirus. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggested the people to wait for 90 days from the day the person is tested positive for coronavirus to take up the vaccination shot. Some of the immunologists said that it is advisable to wait for 6-8 weeks to recover well from coronavirus. Some of the experts say it is even good to wait for six months before taking the coronavirus vaccination dose. The natural antibodies are expected to stay in the body till six months after getting infected. The scientists are conducting a detailed analysis about the vaccine-induced immunity in humans.
