Bollywood just needs a reason to let its hair down and party! And when its for the promotion of a biggie, it doesn't even mind mixing business with pleasure.
The latest big fat Bollywood bash is being planned by Akshay Kumar and Ekta Kapoor, as a bid to promote their upcoming next “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara”. Buzz is that the duo has decided to throw a big iftaar party at a suburban Mumbai hotel on the August 6.
The party guest list, consiting of 500 names, includes names of all the who's who of B-Town as well as top level politicians and government officials.
"The iftaar daawat will be a huge celebration. Besides Ekta and Tusshar Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan, director Milan Luthria, Shatruji (Shatrughan Sinha) and Jeetuji (Jeetendra) are extending personal invitations for the bash," says Tanuj Garg, CEO, Balaji Motion Pictures.
If you thought that was all to the party, brace up for the Arabic style celebrations that is likely to be further jazzed up by a short qawwali performance by the Sabri Brothers.
As for the food, the a la carte will have traditional Eid delicacies. "Dates will be served to break the roza. For dinner, there will be many Mughlai specialties served such as Handi Biryani and Kebabs," revealed an insider.
“Coincidentally, Emraan Hashmi, who played the role of Shoaib in the prequel of OUATIMD, will also be present. A photo-op between the old and new Shoaibs, which is Akshay and Emraan, will surely be among the highlights of the keenly awaited party,” quipped a source.
