OnePlus revealed its own gaming technology on Monday, called OP Gaming Core, to address issues faced in mobile gaming. This technology is said to merge enhancements at the chip level with tools for hardware and software to provide better control, quicker response, and steadiness while playing games on mobile devices. Central to this is the new OP Gaming Core technology, which uses the OnePlus CPU Scheduler to ensure a steady 120fps performance in popular games. It works in conjunction with the new OnePlus Performance Tri-Chip that includes three separate chips and OP FPS Max, a solution for high frame rates in gaming. According to OnePlus, the OP Gaming Core is a chip-based technology created using over 20,000 lines of custom code, which redefines how gaming performance is delivered at the hardware level. It is said to function at the core of Android and is backed by 254 patents focused on gaming optimization. The latest gaming innovations will be featured in the forthcoming OnePlus 15 series, as stated by the company.

The core component of the OP Gaming Core technology is the OnePlus CPU Scheduler. The brand mentioned that it brings smarter allocation of computing resources and replaces the previous Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS). This method performs a detailed analysis of gaming loads to recognize and enhance potential areas that might disrupt important task performance. By employing this methodology, it reportedly cuts CPU instructions for essential tasks by as much as 22.74 percent. With the help of the CPU Scheduler, devices that have the OP Gaming Core technology, such as the upcoming OnePlus 15, will provide power management for each frame and a steady 120fps experience in widely played games, according to OnePlus. It is also indicated that it improves energy efficiency and heat management while also minimizing changes in frame rates. OnePlus has also introduced Next-Gen HyperRendering, a solution claimed to redefine the GPU process and achieve an 80 percent boost in per-frame rendering efficiency through optimized instruction logic in the Vulkan driver layer. This addition results in reducing the extra delay from frame interpolation to nearly none.

OnePlus asserts that its OP Gaming Core technology works in tandem with the new Performance Tri-Chip. This is a hardware solution at the chip level and includes performance, touch response, and Wi-Fi Chip G2. According to the company, the Performance Tri-Chip is based on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The specific touch response chip is said to enhance touch processing, freeing it from the SoC. It supports a touch sampling rate of 330Hz and an instantaneous sampling rate of 3200Hz. Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi Chip G2 comes with advanced RF modules, SmartLink, and other algorithms. OnePlus claims that this chip can enhance network connectivity in areas with weak signals by stabilizing the connection and minimizing lag, resulting in a smoother gameplay experience.

In addition to the Performance Tri-Chip, OnePlus introduced a gaming solution called OP FPS Max that supports high frame rates. This solution includes a specially designed 165Hz screen and can handle 165 frames per second natively. The OP Gaming Core technology is said to optimize performance at the chip level, while the Performance Tri-Chip enhances touch responsiveness and connectivity. According to OnePlus, this technology is currently being utilized to enable 165fps gaming in well-known games, and there are plans to add support for additional titles and industry collaborations later on.
