Whatsapp chats allegedly regarding the drug dealings have come out recently where, Deepika Padukone, Rhea Chakraborty, Sara Ali Khan, and Shraddha Kapoor were a part of.

The Narcotics Control Bureau has been actively investigating the Bollywood drug link ever since the drug chats of Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty were taken note by the bureau.

Reportedly, Enforcement Directorate, which seized the phones and laptop of Rhea Chakraborty have found out these drug chats involving herself, her brother, Samuel Miranda, and other Sushant Singh Rajput’s staff.

The drug link recently has grown bigger and the investigation dug out prominent A-listers of Bollywood in this drug nexus.

Recently, the news channels have accessed a conversation between Deepika Padukone and her manager Karishma, dating back to 2017. The chats were reportedly on the banned drugs in India.

These Whatsapp chats have been retrieved from Jaya Saha, who was also Sushant Singh Rajput’s talent manager. She has been quizzed by the investigation agencies multiple times to date.

Jaya Saha is a part of the KWAN agency which is the prime focus of the investigation agencies at present.

Major celebrities were tied up with this KWAN agency and the CEO of this agency was also summoned by the NCB.

How do Investigation Agencies get this Data?

Whatsapp maintains end-to-end encryptions to all the messages but also mentions that media or messages that have Google drive back up or iCloud back up are not protected by Whatsapp.

In order to access these encrypted messages, investigation agencies create a clone of the user’s phone on another device.

With this, the agencies can transfer all the data into the new device.

With the help of forensic experts, agencies can retrieve all kinds of data like messages, media, images and recordings.

Any data on Google Drive or iCloud or any chats that have been deleted can also be retrieved.

The messages of Jaya Saha are also believed to be retrieved in a similar way. The alleged conversation between Deepika and Karishma were believed to be stored in the cloud data of Jaya Saha. Her data backup has been stored on the cloud since 2015.

Even if the WhatsApp chats are deleted, agencies can access the messages through the Whatsapp servers.

In India, only 10 agencies have to right to decrypt any kind of data of the users. The list includes the Narcotics Control Bureau, Enforcement Directorate and CBI as well.

Under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances act, 1985, it is illegal to produce, possess, sell, purchase, transport, consume, import, or export drugs from India except for medical purposes.

At present, according to the law, Whatsapp chats can be submitted to the court as evidence.

While Bollywood is already facing its music, the Sandalwood industry is facing a separate drug probe and multiple actors have been summoned for questioning.
