The name and location of the three new medical marijuana dispensary facilities were announced on Wednesday by Jonathan A. Harris, the Commissioner of the Department of Consumer Protection.

The Medical Marijuana Program of the state will licensed, these new dispensary facilities. At present, there is around 8228 medical marijuana patients are in record of the Connecticut state.

Registered patients can get the medical marijuana only from the dispensary facilities. The state permits dispensary facilities to lawfully dispense the medical marijuana to the patients. According to the program, the physician of the patients needs to certify that, the patient has one of 11 approved conditions and the use of medical marijuana will work in direction to outweigh the risks.

Commissioner Harris, said that, “With the addition of three new dispensary facilities, the state’s Medical Marijuana Program will be better able to meet the medical needs of the 1941 patients in Fairfield County, and around 2141 patients in New Haven County.”

The three new dispensary facilities are, Southern CT Wellness & Healing, LLC,  located at 318 New Haven Ave. in Milford, Arrow Alternative Care #2, Inc., located at 255 West River St. in Milford and Caring Nature, LLC, located at 237 East Aurora St. in Waterbury.

According to the Department of Consumer Protection, the new dispensary facilities were selected through a competitive process. There were 19 applicants filed the applications. They were needed to provide detailed information about their qualifications, experience, business plan, service offer, security features and the plans that should be beneficial for the local community. After payment of the license fee ($5,000) and submission of the final documents, the chosen dispensary facilities could be able collect their license. All the process must be done within 30 days.
